Late Middle Ages. Agostino, his wife Nina, and son Giovanni live in poverty outside a small village at the foot of the mountain. A huge mountain rises like a wall, blocking the sunlight and turning their farmland into stones and branches. Despite being advised to leave and live a better life, Agostino insists that the fate of his family is at its peak. He firmly believes that a person's roots cannot betray him. Agostino tried in vain to find a better solution to support his hungry family. But their lives did not improve, and Agostino decided to challenge the vastness and strength of this ancient mountain range.
